Additional Costs, tools and equipment
Enrolled students are required to purchase the Napoleon Perdis 22 piece Brush Roll, $475 and Tools of the Trade pack, $410.00 (pack valued at over $600).These are available for purchase at Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy Store.

Course requirements
As this is a practical course in makeup application, starting from week two models are required each week. Students generally use friends, work colleagues and family members as their models. Your course coordinator and your trainers will advise you of the type of model you will need for each week. For classes that fall on a weekend your model is required after lunch. For classes that fall on weekday evenings, your model is required for the full duration of the second evening each week (eg if you are doing the Monday/Wednesday evening class please bring your model along for the Wednesday class only).  Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy students need to be 16 years and over. All makeup is provided for use in class. For OH&S reasons we request that enclosed shoes are worn in the classroom.

Once completed  many students move into retail roles or embark on freelance careers as makeup artists specialising in weddings and special occasion makeup. We have a lot of students who are already working in the beauty sector who are looking to refresh their skills or expand their skill set (qualified hairdressers and beauticians for example.

Study Week to week

WEEK ONE Introducing... An introduction to the industry, covering all the basics to get you started, including all-important elements of eyebrow design
and colour theory.
 
WEEK TWO A good foundation: Learn how to achieve the perfect base and discover the benefits of contouring, which can sculpt and correct better than any needle or surgeon’s knife! Also covers how to make every face shape ready for that close-up by using the best foundation formula for different skin types, and understanding the colour
theory behind clever concealing.

WEEK THREE Eye Understand: Learn how to identify the eye and explore different eye characteristics including ways to apply corrective techniques. Learn Classic and a Socket Eye techniques and begin to master the perfect eye design for every individual, every time. When in doubt, pout - cover all corrective techniques to make the lips work whilst working on lip application techniques.

WEEK FOUR Eyes are on you, Cleopatra to Metallic Smokey: Feature the eye by introducing the Smoked and Yasmin Eye techniques–then, add a splash of colour! Learn how to adapt eye techniques to suit all nationalities. Tackle makeup for all skin tones learning how to achieve a flawless look and how to choose the right colour combinations.

WEEK FIVE More Eye’s, Lips and lashings of lashes: This weeks journey provides an
understanding of different make-up combinations and moods and who they are most suitable for. Recap, revise and refine all previous eye techniques. Explore the techniques for applying a variety of false lashes to enhance your design for a little more glamour. A little bit of lash goes a long way!

WEEK SIX Aisle style: Study all aspects of the lucrative bridal and special occasion makeup industry, from how to market yourself to the most popular looks in the bridal realm.

WEEK SEVEN From mature to masculine: Discover the most appropriate products and
techniques for faces of all ages, and learn how to create flattering makeup for women of every age. Also examines the growing industry of male grooming, and teaches the most appropriate product to create a subtle male makeup look. You’ll also learn the technical and creative skills for mastering makeup looks for different photographic mediums
(including digital photography and high-definition).

WEEK EIGHT Review and trade secrets: A tutorial class where you will recap all the makeup application techniques from previous weeks, plus you’ll learn additional Napoleon Perdis tricks of the trade that only the pros know!

WEEK NINE Promote and create: Learn how to promote yourself in all areas of the industry including fashion, bridal, film and TV. Present your creative journey and have your makeup application skills assessed in this final week.
